Text size100%

The Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development is set to unveil its blueprint for the next five years at an official launch in Lilongwe next week.

Lands Minister Chimwemwe Chipungu will launch the Strategic Plan 2026-2031 at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) at 9am on Tuesday 13 October.

The launch is being sponsored by Eris Properties MW, Habitat for Humanity Malawi and NBS Bank.

The ministry has not said what the plan contains, including its targets, budget or priorities.

It also oversees land administration and housing, areas that have drawn scrutiny.

Earlier this week, Parliament's Public Accounts Committee heard that the ministry had failed to allocate plots at Area 54, Dunduzu and Matindi because compensation had not been paid.
