Mighty Wanderers beat Silver Strikers 1-0 in the FDH Premiership at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe on Saturday, with Clement Nyondo scoring the only goal.

Nyondo had a goal ruled out for offside in the 17th minute. He made no mistake in the 32nd, dribbling past Silver goalkeeper George Chikooka to put the visitors ahead.

Wanderers held their lead through a second half in which neither side added to the score.

Silver Strikers interim coach Patricio Kulemeka said his side was well prepared but made "silly mistakes which could have been avoided".

"A game is the best teacher, but we will try to make some crucial preparations to make it better in the next games," he said.

Wanderers assistant coach Macdonald Mtetemera said his team had stayed hopeful of turning things around after losing their previous four matches.

"We are still working on converting more chances that we are having to make sure that anytime we get a chance we score. But the team is in good shape," he said.
